This seed is from crosses between red and yellow bulbing onions that store well. It is possible that both long and short day varieties contributed to this mix, so you should plan to select hard the first year for plants that bulb up efficiently in your region.

If you live in a region with mild winters, you can grow both long and short day onions. Short day plants begin to form bulbs around March; long day plants begin to form bulbs around May.
