This diverse popcorn grex is the result of crosses between many heirloom and commercial popcorns. It also received a large contribution from Glass Gem, which I back-crossed with commercial popcorns prior to interbreeding with the main population. My main selection criteria are popping ability, yield and phenotypic diversity. I test each cob separately by test popping 100 kernels and subtracting the un-popped kernels from that cob’s “score”.
